How to Paint Reflections & Shiny Metal (On A Classic Turntable)

This video is a watercolor painting tutorial for anyone who loves vintage audio gear like the Technics SL-1200 MK2 turntable and wants to understand how to approach painting these kinds of subjects.

I painted a Technics turntable for my solo exhibit in New York City, starting with a green wash to unify all the machine-themed works in the show. I used wet-on-wet techniques and liquid mask to capture metallic highlights, reflections from windows, and warm wood tones to create depth and dimension. My DJing background taught me to think about the viewer's experience, which influences how I approach every painting I create.
