Foggy Intersection
Foggy Intersection
This was the same foggy night in my Black Squares series, and actually the same corner at 187th and Cabrini, including the always present orange Subaru Crosstrek. Looking back, it’s exactly 2 years since my last watercolor painting of a foggy night (Ft Washington Ave at Night). When preparing to paint this and trying to figure out the palette, I landed on the use of analogous colors, basically 4 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel: blue-violet, blue, blue-green and green.
Original Painting (9"x12”) has been sold.
Limited edition fine art prints (9"x12”) include a white border and are printed on 100% cotton paper, featuring a distinct textured surface (310 gsm; Acid, OBA, and Lignin Free). Each print is numbered and signed, limited to 50 editions.
All other sizes feature acid-free, 100% cotton rag paper with a bright white, smooth surface.
Framed image is for illustration purposes only.

Francis’s scenes are at once familiar, nostalgic and haunting. Devoid of people, they focus on the sometimes overlooked landscapes of everyday life; for me, they evoke a specificity of my own personal experiences in the neighborhood.
